Product Description

Lacey carbon films are similar to the holey carbon films in that they have open areas but because of the fine lacey mesh structure they offer a greater percentage of open area in comparison (see micrograph). They provide the thinnest possible support film while maintaining adequate strength and give practically no background interference in the TEM. As much of the specimen is unsupported, these films are appropriate for use where a structure free background is of importance. Lacey carbon films are particularly suitable for studying some nanotubes, acicular crystals and biological/materials specimens.

Supplied as 25 or 50 grids in a grid box.
Lacey carbon support films can be applied to other grid sizes, material or type. Further details available on request.

Exceptional Sample Support for TEM

Our Lacey Carbon Film on H7 Finder Grid offers ultra-thin, stable, and highly transparent support, enabling optimal imaging in Transmission Electron Microscopy. The finder grid pattern enhances reproducibility by allowing precise sample relocation, which is essential for advanced material science and nanoparticle characterization.

High Purity Materials for Reliable Results

Constructed with high-purity gold (99.99%) and lacey carbon, each grid delivers unmatched stability and performance. The inert nature and structural integrity ensure compatibility across diverse TEM applications, while the films ultra-thin profile maintains electron transparency critical for nanoscale imaging.

Convenience and Long-Term Stability

Supplied in packs of 50, these grids are ideal for research labs and high-throughput facilities. With excellent shelf stability when stored in a dry, clean environment, the grids stand up to long-term use without degradation, making them a reliable consumable for laboratories worldwide.

FAQs of Lacey Carbon Films on H7 finder grid. Gold (Pack of 50):

Q: How should I handle and store the Lacey Carbon Films on H7 Finder Grids?

A: It is important to use clean, antistatic tweezers for handling and to wear gloves to avoid contaminating the grids. Store the grids in a clean, dry environment to ensure long-term stability and maintain the ultra-thin lacey carbon film integrity.

Q: What are the main benefits of using these gold H7 finder grids for TEM applications?

A: These grids offer superior electron transparency, high chemical stability, and an ultra-thin lacey carbon film, which provide excellent sample support for high-resolution TEM imaging. The finder pattern also simplifies sample location tracking and reproducibility.

Q: When is it appropriate to use Lacey Carbon Films on Gold H7 Finder Grids?

A: These grids are ideal for applications in transmission electron microscopy, especially when nanoparticle analysis, advanced material science research, or precise sample tracking is required.

Q: What is the process for locating samples with the H7 Finder Grid pattern?

A: The finder pattern on the H7 grid is marked with coordinates, which allows users to document and quickly relocate areas of interest on the carbon film, facilitating repeatable and organized analysis in multi-step experiments.

Q: Where can these grids be used and with which microscopes are they compatible?

A: These grids are compatible with all TEMs that accept the standard 3.05 mm grid diameter, making them suitable for use in research and analytical laboratories equipped with transmission electron microscopes.

Q: What is the typical thickness of the lacey carbon film, and why does it matter?

A: The lacey carbon film is ultra-thin, typically around 20 nm, though thickness may vary between batches. Such thinness supports high-resolution electron imaging while minimizing background signal, essential for detailed TEM studies.
