They are supplied in convenient tubes for dispensing onto polishing cloths or laps, and may also be used for cleaning delicate internal parts of microscopes. Standard compounds have a water/oil based carrier. Water based or oil based versions are also available for applications where the use of oil or water may not be appropriate.
