Product Description

Holey carbon films have many uses in microscopy but for certain applications the mesh sizes of standard TEM grids are too large to support the sample. Continuous carbon films can also be a problem due to the fact that the thin film can inelastically scatter electrons and contribute to background noise. Holey carbon films therefore are a suitable alternative. Holey carbon films have holes of various sizes up to 100m. In addition to providing support, the increased image contrast in the regions of the holes compared to regions of film is also of benefit. Typical applications include biological and materials science and cryo-TEM.

Supplied as 25 or 50 grids in a grid box.

Holey carbon support films can be applied to other grid sizes, material or type. Further details available on request.

Optimized for High-Resolution Electron Microscopy

Featuring a perforated carbon film on nickel grids, these supports offer low background interference, high electron transparency, and stability with most imaging reagents. Their analytical/research grade quality ensures precise, reproducible results in specialized microscopy workflows.

Ease of Identification and Handling

Every grid is pre-labeled with alphanumeric finder markings, streamlining sample identification during experiments. The packaging includes an anti-static storage box, maintaining grid integrity and simplifying handling using clean anti-static tweezers.

Versatile Application and Reliable Performance

Compatible with standard 3mm TEM holders, these grids are suitable for various electron microscopy tasks, especially where high fidelity and minimal support background are crucial. Custom grid options are available for specialized application requirements.

FAQs of Holey Carbon Films on H7 Finder Grids Nickel (Pack of 25):

Q: How should Holey Carbon Films on H7 Finder Grids Nickel be handled during sample preparation?

A: It is recommended to use clean, anti-static tweezers and avoid direct contact with the carbon film surface to prevent contamination or damage. Proper handling ensures the integrity and performance of the grid during microscope analysis.

Q: What advantages do finder markings provide on these grids?

A: The pre-labeled finder markings allow for effortless sample identification and tracking, which is particularly helpful when analyzing multiple samples or precise locations within the grid during research experiments.

Q: When is it best to use these holey carbon films on nickel grids?

A: These grids are ideal for any transmission electron microscopy (TEM) application requiring high electron transparency and minimal background support, such as high-resolution imaging, analytical research, and precise specimen support.

Q: Where should these grids be stored to ensure optimal condition?

A: Store the grids in a dry, dust-free environment, preferably in the provided anti-static storage box, to prevent contamination and preserve their functionality over an extended period.

Q: What is the process for ordering custom grid configurations?

A: Custom grid configurations, including mesh size or finder marking adaptations, can be requested directly from the manufacturer or supplier. Discuss your specific requirements to ensure the grids match your experimental needs.

Q: What benefits do these grids offer compared to traditional support films?

A: They offer superior electron transparency, reduced support background, high chemical stability, and enhanced sample identification, making them exceptional for demanding electron microscopy applications.
