Product Description

Holey carbon films have many uses in microscopy but for certain applications the mesh sizes of standard TEM grids are too large to support the sample. Continuous carbon films can also be a problem due to the fact that the thin film can inelastically scatter electrons and contribute to background noise. Holey carbon films therefore are a suitable alternative.
Holey carbon films have holes of various sizes up to 100m. In addition to providing support, the increased image contrast in the regions of the holes compared to regions of film is also of benefit. Typical applications include biological and materials science and cryo-TEM.

Supplied as 25 or 50 grids in a grid box.
Holey carbon support films can be applied to other grid sizes, material or type. Further details available on request.

Superior Support for High-Resolution TEM Imaging

These Holey Carbon Films on copper grids deliver exceptional support for Transmission Electron Microscopy, offering high mechanical strength and consistent performance. The perforated structure enables enhanced electron transparency and reduces background noise for clearer imaging. This makes them suitable for advanced studies in biological specimens and material science research, where precise sample visualization is essential.

Quality, Compatibility, and Ease of Handling

Each pack of 50 grids is batch-coded for traceability, ensuring reliable quality control. They are compatible with standard TEM holders and have a durable surface finishing that resists thermal damage up to 400C. For optimal handling, anti-static forceps are recommended. The grids are manufactured and stored under clean conditions to preserve their integrity during transport and usage.

Customizable and Certified Laboratory Consumables

Manufactured according to EM-grade standards, these grids can be customized in mesh size or type upon request. Suitable for laboratories, educational, and industrial research, the grids are supplied by trusted dealers and adhere to industry classification requirements. Their robust physical and chemical properties guarantee performance and ease in a range of electron microscopy applications.

FAQs of Holey Carbon Films on 300 Mesh Copper Grids (Pack of 50):

Q: How should Holey Carbon Films on 300 Mesh Copper Grids be handled to avoid damage?

A: It is best to handle these grids using anti-static forceps in a clean, dust-free environment. This minimizes the risk of mechanical stress or contamination, preserving the integrity of the carbon film for accurate TEM analysis.

Q: What are the main benefits of using holey carbon films on copper grids for TEM?

A: These grids offer a smooth, low-background surface and a perforated carbon film that enhances electron transmission while minimizing imaging noise. They are ideal for high-resolution work in both biological and material science research.

Q: Where can these grids be used, and are they compatible with my TEM holder?

A: Holey carbon film grids are designed for use in Transmission Electron Microscopy and are compatible with most standard TEM holders. They are suitable for a wide range of laboratory, research, and educational institutions.

Q: What is the process for ordering different mesh sizes or grid types?

A: If you require mesh sizes or grid types other than the standard 300 mesh, custom options are available upon request. Contact your supplier or manufacturer with your specifications to discuss customization and availability.

Q: When should these grids be replaced or disposed of?

A: Replace the grids if the carbon film becomes damaged, contaminated, or compromised during sample preparation or analysis. Proper disposal should follow laboratory safety protocols for non-toxic consumables.

Q: How should these grids be stored to maintain quality?

A: Store the grids in a dry, dust-free container to prevent moisture absorption or particulate contamination, helping maintain their quality until use.

Q: What specific applications are these grids best suited for?

A: They are optimal for transmission electron microscopy in high-resolution imaging, structural analysis of biological specimens, and advanced material sciences studies, owing to their robust design and electron microscopy-grade performance.
