Product Description

A range of Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips and sheets with resin-bonded polishing powder on a polyester backing. Waterproof bonding ensures that polishing particles remain fixed to the backing, avoiding unwanted scratches on the surface being prepared. Also available with diamond and silicon carbide powders.

Aluminum Oxide abrasive are supplied as a pack of 10 strips 35mm or 70mm wide or single 215x279mm sheets.

Versatile Abrasive Strip Design

Constructed using premium aluminium oxide, our abrasive strips deliver outstanding durability and adaptability. The available options in width (4 mm to 12 mm and custom sizes) and length (210 mm, 280 mm, or roll forms) cater to varied requirements. The flexible polyester or paper backing enhances ease of use on curved or complex surfaces, making them suitable for intricate finishing tasks.

Superior Cutting and Polishing Action

Owing to fast and precise cutting action, these strips are ideal for surface finishing, deburring, and polishing metals, composites, plastics, and wood. The choice of open or closed coat accommodates different material removal rates, and their high tensile strength ensures consistent performance during demanding jobs.

Maintaining Quality and Safety Standards

Tested to ISO 6344 and FEPA standards, these abrasive strips are non-poisonous, non-hazardous, and chemically stable. For optimal shelf lifeminimum two yearsstore in a dry, moisture-free environment. Always wear safety goggles and a mask during use to ensure operator safety and maintain workplace hygiene.

FAQs of Abrasive strips - Aluminium Oxide:

Q: How should abrasive strips be stored to maintain their shelf life?

A: Abrasive strips should be kept in a dry location away from moisture and humidity to ensure a minimum shelf life of two years and to prevent degradation of the backing material and abrasive bond.

Q: What are the main advantages of using aluminium oxide abrasive strips with flexible backing?

A: The flexible polyester or paper backing allows the strips to conform to contoured surfaces, making them ideal for detailed finishing, polishing, and sanding tasks. The aluminium oxide abrasive offers high durability and fast, precise material removal.

Q: When is it most appropriate to use abrasive strips in industrial or laboratory settings?

A: Abrasive strips are best suited for applications requiring surface finishing, deburring, polishing, contouring, or fine sanding of metals, woods, plastics, and composites. Their flexible form makes them particularly valuable for intricate or curved surfaces.

Q: Where can these abrasive strips be applied for optimal performance?

A: These strips perform exceptionally on metals, wood, plastics, and composite materials. They are commonly used in industrial workshops, dental laboratories, manufacturing plants, and wherever precision contour or finishing work is required.

Q: What is the typical process for using abrasive strips safely?

A: To use abrasive strips safely, ensure you wear safety goggles and a protective mask. Select a suitable strip width and grit size for your task, secure the strip properly, and apply steady pressure during sanding or finishing for even results.

Q: Are there different grade sizes available for these abrasive strips?

A: Yes, the abrasive strips are available in various grit sizes according to industrial requirements. This allows users to choose the appropriate coarseness or fineness for different surface finishing tasks.

Q: What are the key benefits of resin-bonded and open/closed coat abrasive strips?

A: Resin bonding enhances the adhesion of abrasive grains, resulting in longer product life and consistent performance. Open-coat designs reduce clogging for sanding softer materials, while closed-coat options ensure more aggressive material removal on hard surfaces.
