Product Description

A range of Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips and sheets with resin-bonded polishing powder on a polyester backing. Waterproof bonding ensures that polishing particles remain fixed to the backing, avoiding unwanted scratches on the surface being prepared. Also available with diamond and silicon carbide powders.

Aluminum Oxide abrasive are supplied as a pack of 10 strips 35mm or 70mm wide or single 215x279mm sheets.

Superior Flexibility and Tear Resistance

Engineered with flexible polyester, cotton, or paper backing, these abrasive strips can contour around edges and irregular surfaces, making them ideal for detailed finishing. The high tear resistance ensures long-lasting durability during heavy-duty applications in both industrial and workshop settings.

Wide Grit Size Range for Multiple Applications

With grit sizes ranging from 60 (coarse) to 400 (fine), these strips provide versatile solutions for various operationsfrom aggressive material removal to final surface smoothing. Whether in dental labs, metalworking shops, or woodworking environments, the broad grit selection meets diverse finishing needs.

Temperature and Chemical Stability

Aluminium oxide strips tolerate temperatures up to 1650C and are insoluble in water, ensuring reliable performance even under challenging working conditions. Their resin bonding and closed coating further contribute to strength and resistance, maintaining integrity during extensive use.

FAQs of Abrasive strips - Aluminium Oxide:

Q: How should abrasive strips made from aluminium oxide be stored for optimal shelf life?

A: To ensure a shelf life of up to 2 years, store the abrasive strips in a dry environment and avoid humid conditions. Proper storage will maintain their tear resistance, flexibility, and overall performance for the duration of their stated shelf life.

Q: What are the typical applications for aluminium oxide abrasive strips?

A: These strips are commonly used in dental work, metalworking, woodworking, plastics, composites, and other industrial sectors. They are ideal for surface finishing, polishing, grinding, and abrasion tasks due to their flexibility and range of available grit sizes.

Q: When should I select a fine versus a coarse grit abrasive strip?

A: Choose a fine grit (e.g., 400) for delicate polishing or finishing tasks where a smooth result is required, and select a coarse grit (such as 60) for rapid material removal, shaping, or when working on rough surfaces.

Q: Where can these abrasive strips be used safely?

A: You can use these strips safely in a variety of settings, including dental laboratories, manufacturing plants, woodworking studios, and workshops handling metals, plastics, or composites. They are non-toxic, odorless, and safe for handling.

Q: What is the process for using aluminium oxide abrasive strips efficiently?

A: For optimal results, select the appropriate grit size based on the application. Secure the strip and apply consistent pressure along the surface you are treating. Thanks to their flexibility and high tear resistance, they easily adapt to contours and edges.

Q: What are the benefits of using aluminium oxide abrasive strips?

A: Benefits include exceptional flexibility, high tear resistance, suitability for high-temperature environments, a wide range of available grit sizes, and non-toxic properties. This makes them a reliable choice for precise and demanding finishing tasks across various industries.
