Product Description

Manufactured in our laboratories in Stansted using a unique application method, Agar GO support films are hydrophilic and ideally suited to imaging of small nanoparticles, nanowires and suspensions. The low atomic number and thin-layer thickness results in significantly lower background contrast than conventional supports. Agar GO support films are ideal for Cryo TEM studies. The vitreous ice layer can be significantly thinner providing higher contrast and hence higher resolution for structural determination. GO support films can be applied to other grid sizes, material or type. Further details available on request.

Exceptional Sample Support for Electron Microscopy

Designed for advanced imaging, these graphene oxide-coated Quantifoil R2/2 grids provide a highly uniform and electron transparent surface. The unique mesh pattern allows for effective sample distribution and adsorption, making them ideal for cryo-EM and TEM applications. Their research-grade quality ensures reproducible results across molecular, structural, and materials science projects.

High Transparency and Uniformity

The support film achieves monolayer coverage (~13 nm thickness) with consistent, high transparency for electron imaging. This uniform graphene oxide layer minimizes background noise and enhances contrast, yielding precise and clear experimental data. Perforated Quantifoil structures further allow optimal sample visualization and analysis.

Convenient and Safe Handling

For optimal performance, grids should be handled using standard tweezers to prevent contaminationfinger contact should be avoided. These non-toxic, odorless grids are safe for routine laboratory use and can be discarded as non-hazardous waste. Shelf life extends up to 12 months when stored dry and under an inert atmosphere.

FAQs of Graphene oxide support film on Quantifoil R2/2 on 300mesh Cu grids (pack of 10):

Q: How should I handle and store graphene oxide support films on Quantifoil R2/2 copper grids?

A: It is recommended to use tweezers and avoid direct skin contact when handling the grids to prevent contamination and damage. Grids should be stored in a dry, inert atmosphere at room temperature to maintain their quality. Proper storage helps extend the shelf life up to 12 months.

Q: What are the main benefits of graphene oxide-coated Quantifoil R2/2 grids for electron microscopy?

A: These grids provide an ultra-thin, uniform monolayer film that is highly transparent to electrons, enabling high-contrast imaging for cryo-EM and TEM studies. The large surface area and precise hole pattern support optimal sample adsorption while ensuring reproducibility and reliability in research applications.

Q: When should I choose this type of grid support film for my experiments?

A: This product is best suited for research applications requiring minimal background interference and high sample adsorption, such as cryo-electron microscopy, TEM imaging, and material science investigations. Its high uniformity and transparency are beneficial when sample clarity and data accuracy are crucial.

Q: Where can these graphene oxide-coated grids be used?

A: The grids are widely used in academic, institutional, and industrial laboratories in the United Kingdom and internationally. They support high-resolution electron microscopy studies in biology, chemistry, nanotechnology, and materials science.

Q: What is the process for disposing of used grids?

A: Used graphene oxide support films can be disposed of via standard laboratory waste procedures as they are non-toxic and classified as non-hazardous. No special treatment or hazardous waste protocols are required.

Q: Can the graphene oxide film dissolve or melt during processing?

A: No, the graphene oxide film is insoluble in water and most common solvents; it may disperse in some organic solvents or aqueous media. It does not have a melting point, as it decomposes before melting, ensuring stability during standard electron microscopy operations.
