Product Description

A range of Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips and sheets with resin-bonded polishing powder on a polyester backing. Waterproof bonding ensures that polishing particles remain fixed to the backing, avoiding unwanted scratches on the surface being prepared. Also available with diamond and silicon carbide powders.

Aluminum Oxide abrasive are supplied as a pack of 10 strips 35mm or 70mm wide or single 215x279mm sheets.

Superior Flexibility for Detailed Work

Thanks to their flexible polyester film backing and thin construction (0.10.2 mm), these abrasive strips excel in precision applications. They easily adapt to curved and uneven surfaces, making them indispensable for detailed work in laboratories, dental practices, and industrial finishing tasks. The flexible design ensures consistent contact and efficient material removal without damaging the substrate.

Reliable Performance Across Multiple Materials

Designed for versatility, these strips are compatible with metals, resins, ceramics, and dental materials. The aluminium oxide abrasive grain delivers uniform results, from routine surface preparation to fine finishing. Their water resistance enhances performance in wet grinding, while a neutral pH and non-poisonous formulation ensure safety during prolonged use.

Certified Safe and Durable

Manufactured to meet stringent ISO/CE standards, these abrasive strips offer a shelf life of up to 36 months when stored dry. They are non-toxic, odorless, and insoluble in water, providing a safer operating environment. A dust mask is recommended during use to maintain air quality. Suitable for dealers and professionals across the UK industrial supply chain.

FAQs of Abrasive strips - Aluminium Oxide:

Q: How should I use aluminium oxide abrasive strips for the best results?

A: To achieve optimal performance, wrap or hold the flexible abrasive strip onto the workpieces surface and apply moderate, even pressure. For finer finishing, use progressively finer grits. Always wear a dust mask to minimize inhalation, especially during dry sanding. The strips can be used for both dry and wet applications due to their water resistance.

Q: What are the main benefits of using these abrasive strips?

A: These strips offer high flexibility, allowing easy contouring around curves and irregular surfaces. Their aluminium oxide grains provide a uniform surface finish without scratching, ideal for grinding, polishing, and finishing dental materials, metals, and ceramics. The strips are durable, water-resistant, odorless, and easy to handle, making them suitable for precision work.

Q: Where can these abrasive strips be applied effectively?

A: Abrasive strips are commonly used in dental laboratories, medical and jewelry workshops, as well as metalworking and resin finishing environments. Their versatility makes them suitable for use on a variety of materials, including metals, ceramics, and dental composites, wherever a smooth, precise finish is required.

Q: What should I consider when storing abrasive strips?

A: Store abrasive strips in a dry place away from direct moisture and sources of contamination. Proper storage helps maintain their flexibility and extends their shelf life to up to 36 months. The strips remain stable and effective as long as they are kept in their original packaging and under recommended storage conditions.

Q: When is it necessary to replace an abrasive strip?

A: Replace a strip when its abrasive surface becomes visibly worn, clogged with debris, or fails to deliver the desired finish. Frequent inspection ensures consistent performance and avoids potential damage to precision surfaces.

Q: How do these strips compare to other abrasive materials?

A: Aluminium oxide strips provide superior durability and consistent finishing compared to traditional paper-backed abrasives. Their water resistance and flexible polyester backing enable enhanced adaptability and longer usage life, especially in environments where cleanliness and material integrity are paramount.
