Product Description

A range of Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips and sheets with resin-bonded polishing powder on a polyester backing. Waterproof bonding ensures that polishing particles remain fixed to the backing, avoiding unwanted scratches on the surface being prepared. Also available with diamond and silicon carbide powders.

Aluminum Oxide abrasive are supplied as a pack of 10 strips 35mm or 70mm wide or single 215x279mm sheets.

Superior Surface Preparation

These abrasive strips utilize high-purity Aluminium Oxide, delivering consistent cutting performance for demanding surface preparation tasks. The strips are suitable for deburring, finishing, and smoothing metal, wood, and composite materials, as well as dental applications. Their uniform abrasive layer and closed coat make them ideal for achieving even finishes with minimal risk of surface damage.

Durable and Flexible Backing

Backed with flexible cotton or polyester cloth, the strips offer a blend of strength and adaptability. With high tear resistance and a resin bond, they stand up to intensive industrial use while still allowing for precise control, whether handled manually or run through a machine. These properties ensure a reliable tool for a variety of abrasive needs.

Optimal for Industrial Environments

Engineered for industrial-grade performance, the strips maintain efficiency under temperatures up to 120C and boast a shelf life of 24 months. Insoluble in water, odourless, and non-poisonous, they can be safely stored in cool, dry areas. This makes them suitable for dealers, importers, manufacturers, and various industrial applications in the United Kingdom.

FAQs of Abrasive strips - Aluminium Oxide:

Q: How do you use Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips for surface preparation?

A: Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips can be applied by hand or with compatible machinery. Select the appropriate grit and size, then apply the strip to the surface using a consistent movement to deburr, smooth, or finish metals, wood, composites, or dental workpieces.

Q: What are the key benefits of using these abrasive strips?

A: These strips provide reliable cutting action, high tear resistance, and even abrasive coverage due to their closed coat and resin bonding. They adapt to curved or intricate surfaces thanks to their flexible backing, ensuring a smooth, professional finish.

Q: When should I consider replacing the abrasive strip?

A: Replace the strip if its abrasive surface becomes worn or clogged, if the backing is damaged, or after significant reduction in efficiency. For optimal performance, avoid using strips past their 24-month shelf life.

Q: Where can these abrasive strips be effectively used?

A: They are suitable for industrial, dental laboratories, woodworking shops, metalworking plants, and composite manufacturing environments in the United Kingdom, thanks to their adaptability and robust design.

Q: What is the recommended storage process for these strips?

A: Store the abrasive strips in a cool, dry location to prevent moisture absorption and maintain their adhesive and cutting properties. Avoid direct sunlight and exposure to extreme temperatures.

Q: Who are the typical users or buyers of these abrasive strips?

A: Dealers, exporters, importers, manufacturers, producers, retailers, suppliers, traders, and wholesalers across industrial sectors in the United Kingdom make primary use of these high-grade abrasive strips.

Q: What advantage does the flexible cotton or polyester backing offer?

A: The flexible backing allows the strips to conform to irregular surfaces and shapes while resisting tearing under stress, making them ideal for precision work and extended usage compared to rigid-back alternatives.
