Product Description

Abrasive Strips - Aluminium Oxide

A range of Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips and sheets with resin-bonded polishing powder on a polyester backing. Waterproof bonding ensures that polishing particles remain fixed to the backing, avoiding unwanted scratches on the surface being prepared. Also available with diamond and silicon carbide powders.

Aluminum Oxide abrasive are supplied as a pack of 10 strips 35mm or 70mm wide or single 215x279mm sheets.

Precision and Flexibility for Challenging Surfaces

Our Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Strips are engineered for optimal performance on complex or contoured surfaces. With exceptional flexibility and resilience, they are ideal for jobs where standard abrasive forms cant reach. This flexibility delivers uniform contact and effective material removal, resulting in more consistent surface finishes and reduced risk of substrate damage. The strips are designed for both industrial and specialized uses, including dental applications.

Versatile Application and Durable Design

From surface finishing to polishing, these abrasive strips are suitable for a wide variety of processes, meeting the stringent standards of ISO certification. The resin bond provides strength and durability even under extended use. The strips substantial operational temperature tolerance (up to 150C) and robust aluminum oxide composition retain abrasive properties over time, making them an excellent choice across many industries.

FAQs of Abrasive Strips - Aluminium Oxide:

Q: How should abrasive strips be stored to maintain their quality?

A: Abrasive strips should be stored in a dry location away from moisture. This helps preserve the resin bond and prevents degradation or warping of the backing material, ensuring the strips maintain their effectiveness and long shelf life of up to 24 months.

Q: What backing materials are available for these aluminum oxide strips?

A: The abrasive strips are offered with a choice of durable backing materials, including paper, cloth, or polyester. This allows users to select the most suitable option depending on the application, flexibility needs, and desired strength.

Q: When should I choose a particular grit size for my application?

A: Select a coarser grit such as P80 for more aggressive material removal or initial shaping, while finer grits like P600 are suitable for finishing and polishing tasks where smoother surfaces are required. The range from P80 to P600 provides versatility for progressive sanding processes.

Q: Where are aluminum oxide abrasive strips commonly used?

A: These strips are widely employed in industries such as metalworking, woodworking, and dentistry. Their high flexibility and adaptability make them especially effective on contoured or hard-to-reach surfaces, both for industrial processes and precision work.

Q: What are the benefits of using aluminum oxide as the main abrasive material?

A: Aluminum oxide offers excellent hardness, consistent abrasive action, and long-lasting performance. It is non-poisonous, insoluble in water, and can withstand high temperatures, making it suitable for demanding industrial and professional environments.

Q: How can these abrasive strips be usedmanually or with machines?

A: These abrasive strips are designed to accommodate both manual sanding techniques and machine-based processes, catering to various project requirements and levels of precision.

Q: What is the process for applying abrasive strips on contoured surfaces?

A: Due to their high flexibility and resilient resin bond, these strips conform easily to curved and irregular shapes. Apply the strip with gentle, even pressure, following the contour of the surface for consistent, effective material removal or surface finishing.
