Product Description

Abrasive Strips - Aluminium Oxide

A range of Aluminium Oxide abrasive strips and sheets with resin-bonded polishing powder on a polyester backing. Waterproof bonding ensures that polishing particles remain fixed to the backing, avoiding unwanted scratches on the surface being prepared. Also available with diamond and silicon carbide powders.

Aluminum Oxide abrasive are supplied as a pack of 10 strips 35mm or 70mm wide or single 215x279mm sheets.

Strong and Flexible Backing for Demanding Tasks

The abrasive strips feature an optimal balance of strength and flexibility, using either high-grade paper or cloth as backing material. This ensures enhanced endurance under pressure while permitting adaptability to curved or uneven surfaces. The robust construction delivers high tear resistance, enabling the strips to withstand tough industrial finishing processes without premature wear or breakage.

Versatile Grit Sizes for Various Applications

These strips are available in an array of grit sizes, ranging from coarse to fine, making them suitable for applications such as sanding, deburring, surface finishing, and polishing. The closed coat of aluminium oxide provides consistent abrasive action, ensuring effective material removal and smooth results, regardless of the substrate.

Engineered for Safety and Longevity

Safety is prioritized with these abrasive strips, as they are non-toxic, odourless, and operate efficiently up to 200C. To maximize shelf life, strips should be stored in a dry, cool place away from acids and alkalis. Proper handling includes adhering to PPE recommendations for safe and effective use in any industrial or commercial setting.

FAQs of Abrasive Strips - Aluminium Oxide:

Q: How should abrasive strips made with aluminium oxide be stored for optimal shelf life?

A: Store the strips in a dry, cool environment away from acids and alkalis to maintain their quality. Proper conditions can extend their shelf life to 12-24 months.

Q: What are the main benefits of using these aluminium oxide abrasive strips?

A: Key advantages include high tear resistance, versatility across many materials, consistent performance due to the closed coat, and compatibility with various industrial finishing processes.

Q: When is it recommended to use coarse versus fine grit abrasive strips?

A: Coarse grits are ideal for material removal and rough sanding, while fine grits are best for polishing and achieving smooth finishes. The choice depends on the specific surface preparation or finishing requirement.

Q: Where can these abrasive strips be used?

A: They are suitable for use on metals, wood, plastics, and glass, making them ideal for manufacturing, automotive, woodworking, and maintenance sectors throughout the United Kingdom.

Q: What safety precautions should be observed when handling or using abrasive strips?
